Good morning, all.
Buying a house is taking up a lot of time lately, but I did squeeze in a
weekend recently and finished up a couple projects that I've had in the
works for about a month. I also was able to start and finish another
calabash in the span of the weekend, and when you see it, I think you'll
agree that this one is special. The first two are available for
immediate sale, but the calabash is a special request, and the customer
gets first dibs.
I'll lead off with this lumberman, a really nice pipe with loads of
contrast in the grain. It's also exceedingly comfortable, and holds a
generous amount of tobacco. My mother the portrait artist called it
"something to buy, just to display", but I hope that whoever buys it
will smoke it with pride.

This one is an elephant's foot that is simply marvelous. I'm so happy
with the way it finished up that I'm nearly at a loss for words to
describe it. It's also the first in over a year that's getting the
nobleman grade, and only the third in history to receive that stamp.

And here is the calabash, number three. This one is a smooth finish,
with a high contrast stain on the main body. Like the rest, the bowl is
finished in a very light contrast that hints at being briar, but is
traditionaly light in color. Also of note, is that this is also a
Nobleman grade - the pipe is impressive and, I'm sorry to use the
cliche, but the pics just don't do it justice.

I am, right now, heading out into the workshope to finish a couple
sandblasted pipes that I hope to post tomorrow morning, so stay tuned
for more pipes....
