From pipecrafter at pipecrafter.com Sun Apr 6 12:20:39 2008 From: pipecrafter at pipecrafter.com (Kurt Huhn) Date: Sun, 06 Apr 2008 12:20:39 -0400 Subject: [Pipe-announce] 2008.04.06 - Two Rhodesians Message-ID: <47F8F857.3070602@pipecrafter.com> It's been a while since I put something new on my site. I haven't been absent, just focusing on getting special requests out the door. I have, however, been asked by a few folks to send something new out, anything, even if it isn't for sale or is already sold. So here's two that I finished up late last week, and are already on their way to their new owners. The first one is a special request of a rhodesian. I posed the idea of a silver ring and robust proportions, and the customer really liked the sketches I sent out. http://www.pipecrafter.com/pipes/cityman/rhodesian10.php Oddly, about 3 days later, another customer asked about a rhodesian too, and I got the impression he was looking for something similar. Off went the sketch, and here we are with a very similar pipe. http://www.pipecrafter.com/pipes/cityman/rhodesian11.php More new stuff is in the works, and might even get finished today (Sunday), including a really cool surprise. Now, you might look through my older work and find something that couldbe called alovat in the right light, but here's the first one I really feel confident calling by that name. http://www.pipecrafter.com/pipes/cityman/lovat1.php This next one is a really nice bulldog with a very interesting grain. This one was actually saved from the sandblast cabinet by virtue of that grain. I actually intended to make a sandblast, but in the end, I couldn't bring myself to do it. http://www.pipecrafter.com/pipes/cityman/bulldog22.php And here is the surprise. It's a pipe of generous bowl size despite it's stocky proportions. But that's only half, or perhaps not even half, of the story. No spoilers here, you have to read the page to see it. http://www.pipecrafter.com/pipes/cityman/acorn3.php Thanks for reading! -- Kurt Huhn pipecrafter at pipecrafter.com http://www.pipecrafter.com
