Some days I get to make a pipe with no restrictions and just because I want to. After taking a few days off from a recent deluge of custom orders,
I decided it might be nice to take a step back in time and revisit a shape that I first made for myself about five years ago, but never seems to have done again.
This prince is a very light pipe, weighing in at just a hair over one ounce. This is in contrast to its long length, at just over seven inches, and we can thank the
bamboo for that. While giving the bowl a contrast stain, I decided to give that bamboo a bit of a toast to increase the character and deepen the color. It's
a bit of a laborious process, but I love the final result. Topped off with an incredibly comfortable hand-cut stem, this pipe is great for quiet consideration on cool nights.
