Brandywine1

I've been doing a lot of volcanos recently, and I wanted to mix things up a little for a change of pace. I went the brandy glass route with this one, giving it a gentle transition from side to bottom, and slightly rounding the sides to soften the entire bowl. This creates a really cool illusion, visible in the second photo, of the bowl rim being impossibly thin. It helps create a lightness that otherwise wouldn't be there on a flat topped pipe bowl. Once I got the bowl shape down, I decided to take things even futher, and give it a shank extension of ebonite, and a comfortably long stem that's not quite churchwarden long. The color is also very interesting, with hints of red, yellow, and orange in celebration of the changing season.
