Bumblefish

Believe it or not, this pipe is much better looking sandblasted. The grain pattern was good enough to follow for the shape, but past that, it wasn't really remarkable. So when a flaw opened up on one side, I took the opportunity and declared it a sandblast. It's a good thing I did, because the sanblast is really nice.

Also on this pipe is a piece of really cool material that I recently found a reliable source for. It's synthetic amber, and looks for all the world like the copal amber stems on a couple old meerschaum pipes that I have. I used it as a shank adornment this time around, but I will likely use it as a stem soon since it looks so good.

And now you all ask: Bumblefish? Well, The pipe is in the tradition of the discus/blowfish, but also has an asymmetrical bowl that's a little on the oval and chubby side. While it doesn't look like a bumble-bee, it certainly reminds me of one. Black and yellow, chubby....
