This pipe originally was going to be something else entirely. Instead of a dublin, I had designs on it to make a modern day kiseru, but in the interest of getting this pipe made before I had to move the workshop, I opted to finish it as you see here. And since it almost was a differnt pipe, it has an interesting and new stem arrangement. Instead of my normal delrin tenon, this one has a stainless tube tenon - and in fact a reverse arrangement from what you normally see these days. The last photo below shows what I mean. The shank accents are cocobolo and acrylic.
As you can see, it's got a wonderful straigh-ish flame grain all the way around the bowl. Were it not for a couple extremely small flaws (barely more than pinpricks) this pipe would have been graded a Nobleman. It's also extremely light, and just about disappears in your lips. The tobacco chamber is correspondingly small, but still will hold enough tobacco to smoke for roughly an hour of conscientious flake puffing.
